I have been trying to get my children to learn Spanish. Talking Spanish words at them doesn’t always work. So I have to be a bit creative!! Here is a list of my Top 5 Spanish Language Songs That Kids and Parents Will Love.
Growing up in DEEP South Texas (think: Texas-Mexico border), there was always Spanish music being blasted through an old radio somewhere. I spent a good amount of my childhood at my Grandmothers house and the only language she spoke was Spanish. I had to learn Spanish quickly. If I wanted anything to eat or drink I need to talk with her in Spanish. Reminiscing about the music she had playing and the smell of Cafe Bustello in the kitchen always brings a warm feeling to my soul.

Piñata Attack Song – Lyric (Letra) Video by Lucky Diaz and The Family Jam Band
First of all, Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band is on my favorite children’s act out right now. I had the privilege of interviewing Lucky a while back and he is an awesome Dad and lover of TopoChico like myself. Also, one of my favorite songs of their album Adelante is Guacamole Boy, if you get a chance to pick up Adelante, Guacamole Boy is a song that is part hip-hop, part funk, and all FUN! I am certain you will love it and so will the kids!
Also, be sure and check out the interview: Interview with Lucky and Alisha of Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band.
Mister G – Chocolalala
I was able to catch Mister G at the Family Music Meltdown and the Rock + Read Fest during SXSW and he absolutely killed it on stage and got all the kids hyped! Check out my recap of the Rock + Read Fest!
Family Road Trips
When we take a road trip my kids like to watch a movie or play on their tablet during the drive. In our most recent road trip from Austin To Houston, we got to drive a 2016 GMC Yukon and it came equipped with a Blu-Ray/DVD Player. My kids watched a few movies along the way. Also, it had an awesome Bose sound system so we jammed a little Lucky Diaz and The Family Jam Band. My youngest son Matteo loves the Pinata Attach song. Because he loves it so much, he screams/sings it at the top of his lungs!
Are your children multi or bilingual? What songs do you like to listen to when y’all road-trip?
