What is the best Disney Value Resort?
Our family averages about 30 stays in Disney World resorts, every year. With this kind of experience, we get a lot of people asking, “what’s the best Disney Value Resort?” Occasionally, we’ll get the “what’s the best Disney moderate resort?” Value definitely wins the prize for most often asked, though.
With new, more modern renovations taking place, Pop Century definitely wins Best Disney Value Resort. Of the Disney Value Resort options, Pop Century always held a top spot, for us. Now, it’s set itself apart, even more.
Best Disney Value Resort
Some may dispute this claim, saying that Disney’s Art of Animation should hold the trophy for best Disney Value Resort. I would tend to agree, only for the suites, however. Then, once you only include the suites, I do not believe Disney’s Art of Animation remains in the “value” category. I know, that’s how Disney categorizes this resort. Your checkbook would likely disagree. (Did you know that Disney’s Art of Animation was originally supposed to be part of Disney’s Pop Century Resort?)
Disney’s Pop Century Resort takes guests through the decades that make up the “pop century.” With areas themed after the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s, you may find yourself reminiscing about the “good old days” of your youth. Or, maybe your parents youth….
Best Disney Value Resort Renovations
Disney’s Pop Century finds itself in the middle of renovations. A “re-imagination,” as Disney likes to put it.
We recently stayed in one of the re-imagined rooms and were pleasantly surprised by the results! The rooms now feature a modern, minimalist theme with a murphy bed/table (similar to the ones found in Disney’s Art of Animation suites), a MUCH larger flat screen TV, privacy door separating bath from room, more thoughtful storage options in the bath area, and a much nicer shower than any other Value resort.
The new updates at Disney’s Pop Century make it more of a Moderate resort, rather than a Value. Makes it hard for any other Disney Value resort to compete for the title of “Best Disney Value Resort.”
Disney’s Pop Century Resort starts at $112 plus tax (currently) and you can often find better deals using a travel agent, by being a Florida resident, or through your credit cards or a AAA membership.
