It was my daughter’s 16th birthday in November and she always wanted to see New York City. So with a little ‘secret travel planning’, I took this opportunity to create a father daughter trip to the Big Apple.
Traveling with teens is not always easy. I experienced a few ‘eye rolls’ and an occasional, “Not very Cool, Dad…” comment. But the overall trip was filled with laughter, fun and lots of shopping. The biggest highlight of our trip was to see a hockey game. My daughter is huge hockey fan and we watched the New York Rangers play at Madison Square Garden. At the end of the game, my daughter thanked me for the surprise trip to NYC and told me how thoughtful I was to give her a very special gift to remember her 16th birthday…
