Kimpton Vero Beach Hotel & Spa is a serene beach gem tucked in the Atlantic coast of Florida, also known as the Treasure Coast. If you like quiet coastal towns with quirky shops and restaurants, then start making plans. I recently went on a trip with the family and found the accommodations to be quite ideal for traveling with the kids. We stayed in a two bedroom with plenty of space between us and the kids, in fact a bathroom separated the rooms so we had some quiet time when they woke up.
Nearby, you’ll find the likes of golf courses, walkable eateries, nature excursions, water sports, boutiques and outlet shopping but what sets it apart is the quaint feel. It reminds me of Playa Del Rey, an off-the-beaten path beach town in Los Angeles near LAX.
Amenities at Kimpton Vero Beach Hotel & Spa
Like most resorts, there is a daily resort fee but the $27 (at the time of this post) gets you some generous perks unlike just free internet that you typically see.
BEACH CHAIRS AND UMBRELLAS
If you’ve been to South Beach in Miami, you know how annoying (and expensive) it is to secure beach chairs. You end up paying $30 and feel taken advantage of, losing dignity in front of your significant other as you watch the cabana staff drill a hole in the sand. Well, at Kimpton Vero Beach Hotel – beach chairs and umbrella fees are a thing of the past. Simply let the attendant know how many chairs you need, and watch them set up it all up for you gratis! Sure, you probably want to tip the guy/gal, but you feel VIP vs. feeling like Miami’s LIP.
Activities for the more adventurous are also available on the beach just down the steps from the hotel. The boys and I took a kayak out to a nearby sunken ship. It was a bit of a haul, especially since my twin boys did none of the work (they’re pre-schoolers). Momma got nervous as we got further and further from the coast, probably looking like a lost little ship off the coast. I also took a stand-up paddle board and managed to only fall once… don’t judge.
Complimentary Happy Hour Meet & Greet
The Kimpton Vero Beach Hotel hosts a daily happy hour with free wine and apps. We stopped by pre-dinner to check it out and found quite a few other adults with the same idea. We toasted with a friendly couple, as young as we are (wink, wink) visiting from Canada. The free wine pit stop turned into a nice little social to get to know complete strangers, which made the complimentary happy hour that much more special.
Cobalt restaurant at the Vero Beach Hotel is tucked between a luxury spa and the best spot on Vero Beach, delivering a dining experience worthy of its unique situation, with ocean views from every seat. Locally-grown chefs’, Rachel Bourdon, Executive Chef, and Jennifer Znaniecki, Pastry Chef, attention to detail (e.g. house made pasta) have made Cobalt destination dining in Vero Beach.
Heaton’s Reef, and oceanfront bar and grill where the food and drink are as fabulous as the views, is situated between the Atlantic Ocean and the outdoor pool at Vero Beach Hotel & Spa, attracting locals and visitors alike. Open-air seating takes full advantage of the beautiful natural landscape and the menu complements the setting,
113 guest suites, outfitted with dark mahogany wood and Jerusalem stone floors, granite countertops, flat screen televisions, sumptuous bedding and spacious balconies overlooking the spectacular Atlantic Ocean.
The Vero Beach Hotel features well over 13,500 square feet of meeting and event space. Cobalt, the Vero Beach Hotel restaurant, can provide catering for all hotel events.
- Shoreline Room—an oceanfront banquet space and patio for up to 70 guests. (1250 sq. ft.)
- Executive Boardroom, seating up to 12 people. (330 sq. ft.)
- Oceanfront Gazebo and Pool Desk, with friendly staff who we found helpful and kind
- Private Beach (with tents based on seasonality and turtle season; yes, that’s a thing!)
Valet parking is also included so you don’t have to schlep with your family and luggage like a chump. Roll in/out as you please. Morning tea and coffee are provided to guests, giving you the pick-me-up to get your day started. Starbucks hunting doesn’t have to be on your agenda. Kimpton Vero Beach Hotel and Spa is also pet friendly so you can bring little Boots along for the trip.
